Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 8, 2026
Introduction
TaskPomo ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application TaskPomo (the "App").
Information We Collect
Privacy-first, offline-first. TaskPomo is designed so that, by default, all your data — tasks, timer sessions, and statistics — is stored locally on your device and never leaves it. If you never create an account, no personal information reaches our servers.
When you create an account (optional). To enable cloud sync, leaderboards, study rooms, and cross-device access, we store the following in our database: email address, display name, profile photo (if provided), and the sync data listed in the "Data Storage" section below.
Push notifications (optional, v1.0.5+). If you enable notifications, we collect your device push notification token, preferred language, and timezone to deliver notifications in your language and respect your local quiet hours (default 22:00–08:00 in your timezone). Quiet hours preferences are stored in your profile and can be changed or disabled at any time. Push notifications can be turned off entirely from your device settings.
Analytics & advertising. We use Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns and Google AdMob to display ads within the mobile app. These services may process device identifiers as described in their own privacy policies. You can control ad personalization and analytics consent from the app's Settings screen.
Data Storage
All data created within TaskPomo is stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms. When synced, data is stored in our database with Row Level Security (RLS) policies ensuring only you can access your own data. This includes:
- Tasks and their completion status
- Timer session history
- Statistics and productivity data
- App settings and preferences
Data Sharing
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties. Friend features are opt-in — only your username and pomodoro count are visible to accepted friends.
Push notifications are delivered through Expo's push service (expo.dev), which relays notifications to Apple Push Notification Service (iOS) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android). Only the notification text you see on your device is included in the payload — no personal content.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the app. This includes app crashes, performance metrics, general usage patterns, and device type. This data is anonymous and cannot identify you personally.
Children's Privacy
TaskPomo is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
